Concord Oval is overdue for revitalisation to maximise the space and respond to emerging community needs.
In 2016, the City of Canada Bay collaborated with the NSW Government and existing and potential tenants to build a preliminary concept plan – the Redevelopment of Concord Oval (ROCO) - which identified key elements and a layout for the site.
ROCO will be realised through funding of $30 million from the NSW Government through the Parramatta Road Urban Amenity Improvement Program, with further funding from the City of Canada Bay and Wests Tigers, in a once in a generation opportunity to revitalise this significant asset. Delivering to the community a strategic and sustainable multi-purpose precinct.
At the core of the preliminary ROCO Concept Plan is shared community access to this site, for the first time since 1985.
The new facility will deliver a range of community services including a new indoor recreation centre, open spaces for passive recreation, rooms for community use, new match day facilities for local sporting clubs and a new high performance centre for the Wests Tigers.
Community engagement was undertaken from Monday, 15 October to Sunday, 4 November and Mayor Angelo Tsirekas thanks you for your contribution to this significant project.
